Ayden Mezzaran, Commanding Officer of the U.S.S Intrigue (Reg. No. T856002) reporting.
At approximately 22:00 S.D. 15-05-04, during the ship's night cycle, an object of unknown design and origin struck the Intrigue on her port aft passenger compartment causing an immediate hull breach. Explosive decompression occurred and emergency bulkheads sealed off the compartment. Approximately fifteen minutes later, Damage Repair Teams had assembled and were preparing to patch the breach. An investigation was begun immediately, led by myself and my senior officers.
Fortunately, this section of the ship was not in heavy use. There was no loss of life or cargo as a result of this incident. While this is good news, there are a few questions that need to be cleared up.
Point of impact investigations show the foreign object as having struck the ship and then exiting the ship at a high rate of velocity. There was no evidence of explosives nor could any trace of the object be found.
After DRT patched the hull, the investigation continued for several hours with no leads being produced. Realizing that no more could be learned at our current position, I ordered the Intrigue to the Space Docks at Nos'Nik. Cruising at sub-light the journey took two days. Repairs were carried out the following day and the Intrigue has returned to full service.
At this time I am unable to report any further developments in the investigation. I have suspicions, but am unable to back them up with hard facts and therefore will not waste the fleet's time with my wild speculations.
