I was skimming through a forum for the city I live in when I hit upon a topic concerning our school board. A comment had been made about how a private individual who has no affiliation with the board or school district (except to pull the strings of certain board members) seems to have a racist agenda. This individual is black.
In the next sentence his racism was referred to as "reverse racism".
What the fuck kind of term is "reverse racism"? How did that abortion of a term become an acceptable part of the english language?
Racism (rac·ism) n.
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
Can somebody explain to me what exactly "reverse racism" is? Is it the opposite of racism? Is it racism spelled backwards? What exactly is this "reverse racism" bullshit?!?
It seems to me that racism is racism, whether it's a white person discriminating against a black person or a black person discriminating against a white person.
