Wasted Years

Work is awesome. Stressful, but awesome.

I have new responsibilities and a new title that's longer than a Star Wars opening crawl. You can call me a system administrator for short. We just finished successfully rolling out our new email system with a few minor issues that were quickly resolved.

I'm leaving Wednesday on a trip to California with the Boss' Boss to attend an Apple Tech Briefing. I hope to get a lot out of it (including free stuff... I'm a whore for free stuff). Should be interesting. Not looking forward to four hours on a plane though... but I'll deal.

We're getting a new fiber network installed between all of our buildings which should eliminate our bandwidth problems once and for all. We're hopefully going to be upgrading all of our building switching equipment at the same time as well as deploy new servers and network storage. Still waiting to hear on funding for that though.

So work is going well. I'm really busy and enjoying every minute of it. I love my job which is an impressive confession for me since I absolutely hated it not that long ago.
