40 Years

It's been 40 years since man first set foot on the moon, an achievement the likes of which has yet to be matched in terms of ingenuity and dedication. We learned a great deal from Apollo, but there is still one question that boggles me.

Why the hell did we stop?

We need to get back some of what we lost in the 40 years since Apollo 11. We need to challenge ourselves to return to the moon and go beyond. Hopefully NASA's plans don't fall by the wayside under our current administration. If NASA can't do it, the private sector should step in.

It's a shame mankind's "Giant Leap" didn't get us very far.
